Secret of Donation:

A farmer harvested rice of a season and wished to offer the first fruit of grains to God; he eagerly cooked the rice and set out towards the temple chanting his favorite God’s name. On the way, he heard an old man groaning near a bush. Seeing the old man’s agony who looked weak and starved, the farmer cheerfully offered the bowl of rice to him. The old man took the rice bowl with his feeble hands and started eating. The farmer again proceeded and reached the temple. The temple priest who was waiting for the farmer with his offering, saw him coming empty-handed. When the priest inquired him, the farmer said that he gave the rice to an old man on the way. Hearing this, the priest blessed him for his kind act saying that God dwells every where in everything. Whatever is given to the needy with a pure heart is real offering to God.

Donation is about identifying the needs and providing those needs at the right place, at the right time to the right person/people. In this act the value is neither for the price of the object nor the greatness of the donor, but only for the right object that is given to fulfill that particular need. Here, it’s the cooked rice which quenched the hunger of the old man and a giving heart of the farmer becomes valuable and giving to the needy is a thoughtful act. We can say that the secret and greatness of donation is not to the size of the item or the price of the item. But the value here is only for the heart that gives without expecting anything in return. Donating to those in need with good intention seems to be the true sacrifice and true charity, providing food for the hungry, water for the thirsty, cloths for the needy, education for below poverty line and medical aid for sick is the best charity.

Our Guru

As a young boy Sam, often happened to watch and observe a simple and humble man who would talk to poor people, give them food, clothing, money and other support during their difficulties in the remote villages of Palamaner. Sam learnt that this humble man was once working as a government officer holding a higher position who served his whole life for the well-being of the downtrodden after resigning his job. When his wife whom he loved the most passed away, he was distressed and realised life is a flux and all is impermanent. He left his only daughter Sr. Sundari (who’s now serving as a religious nun) under his brother’s care and renounced all his wealth by donating them to the deprived and then joined a missionary. He was approached by many people with several wants and issues, none of a person was sent back empty-handed, he provided all of them what they asked for generously. He even purchased house sites and donated them for the deprived and leprosy patients. Inspired by his selfless works, young Sam accompanied him wherever he went and watched the sufferings of people in various walks of life. Sam then on accepted this humble man who was known as Bro. Marianus Reddy as his Guru. During his last days, Guru recognised Sam’s serving heart for people and advised him to involve and work for the welfare of the Society when reaching a good position.

Sam’s spiritual heart-search begun from there on and desired to support the destitute who are in real need of help. On joining a work in reputed organisation Mr. Sam started helping people with his own earnings.

Believing that learning and evolving is the process to lead a righteous life, he met like-minded people and worked with many spiritual, religious and non-religious people across all communities, common men and women across various pursuit of life after the demise of his Guru. Presently, the blessings and guidance of Mr. S. Pratap Reddy and Mr. Bala Marneni upholds Mr. Sam K to continue and attain higher goals of human life through his service.
